Krishna Janmashtami , simply known as Gokulashtami is an annual festival which celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. We at Vidhya Vishwalaya celebrated Gokulashtami on August 26 with a number of colourful events.
Events such as bhajans, slokas about the life of Krishna were sung and recited. There were splendid performances by kids including Fancy dress showing the Dashavatars of Lord Vishnu and the various forms of Ashtalakshmi, Radha Krishna dance, dandiya. Also musical drama and motion dramas were performed showing the life of Krishna at various stages. Bhagavat Gita teaches were explained and also the depth of Krishna Kuchela friendship was explained.
Later a few competitions were conducted including painting of krishna, decorating flute, pots, making rangoli designs, colouring and many more.
All these events and competitions were aimed at bringing the values of love, compassion, friendship, devotion and righteousness to the young mind. It also aims in spreading the cultural knowledge and awareness of various traditions and festivals we celebrate.
