Journalism in Action: A Recap of Our July Newsletter Competition
On July 31st, Vidhya Vishwalaya buzzed with the energy of a newsroom as we hosted our highly anticipated Newsletter Competition. This event brought together young thinkers across two dynamic levels: a spirited group from Grades 5 and 6, and an insightful cohort from Grades 7, 8, and 9.
Throughout the month, our hallways were transformed into vibrant information hubs. Each class was assigned a dedicated newsletter pin board, which students meticulously curated by researching daily news, adding analytical notes, and selecting the most impactful stories of the month. This wasn’t just about collecting headlines; it was about understanding the world. Students dived into lively discussions, dissecting the influence of current events on society.
The competition culminated in a grand finale where students took center stage. With confidence and poise, they presented their curated boards, leading engaging Q&A sessions and defending their editorial choices to their peers. This initiative did more than just teach news—it reinforced vital research, communication, and critical thinking skills.
It was a proud moment to witness the inquisitive spirit of our students as they moved from being passive readers to active analysts. We look forward to seeing how these young journalists continue to decode the world around them
