“The best way to learn is through exploration and experience.”
Keeping this spirit in mind, students from Grade 5 to Grade 9 participated in an enriching Heritage and Educational Visit from 6th to 8th October, aimed at providing meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom. The visit offered students an opportunity to explore the intersection of science, culture, and heritage, making learning both engaging and memorable.
One of the key highlights of the visit was the trip to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). During this visit, students were introduced to various aspects of space research, satellite development, and rocket launches, along with the applications of space technology in everyday life. The student–scientist interaction session allowed students to gain valuable insights from scientists and engineers, inspiring young minds to develop a deeper interest in science, innovation, and space exploration.
The students also visited the Priyadarshini Planetarium, where they attended an informative show about the solar system, planets, and the vast universe. This interactive experience helped enhance their understanding of astronomy and sparked curiosity about space science.
As part of the heritage exploration, students visited the renowned Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, admired for its architectural magnificence and historical importance. They also explored the Napier Museum and the Sri Chitra Art Gallery, where they witnessed a remarkable collection of sculptures, artifacts, and traditional paintings that showcase India’s rich cultural legacy.
The visit concluded with a trip to the picturesque Kovalam Beach, where students enjoyed the serene coastal environment while also learning about the importance of preserving natural ecosystems.
Overall, the three-day educational visit proved to be a valuable and inspiring learning journey. It encouraged students to broaden their horizons, appreciate India’s achievements in science and heritage, and develop a deeper curiosity for knowledge and discovery.
