This initiative aims not only to plant trees but to nurture a sense of love and gratitude towards our planet. Through activities that celebrate our environment, we encourage students to explore their role as stewards of nature. By participating in the visits , they will learn firsthand the importance of conservation and sustainable living practices.
In this regard, we visited IFGTB on the 4th July ( Students from grade 4 to Grade 9 along 8 staff )“ The ICFRE-Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (ICFRE-IFGTB)”, Coimbatore established under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education
We visited the Iconic 120-year-old Gas’s Forest Museum is a record of the history of the land, lovingly curated for over a century and we visited Tamil Nadu Agricultural University ( TNAU) Insects collected since the early 1900s are housed here The museum showcases a rich diversity of insects from all over the country as never seen before under the theme ‘Bugs Are Kings’, the museum displays insects as preserved specimens and models on their behavior, habits and habitat.
The students purchased the saplings in the Botanical Garden, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and planted them in their homes and school. The visit offers a valuable educational and enriching experience, providing insights into history, culture, and the natural world.
