Roles & Responsibilities

A successful candidate occupying the position of a teacher is required to:

Curricular, Co-curricular and Administrative:

• To intellectually inspire each student with the love of learning.
• Teach the core curriculum in adherence to all school policies, schemes of work and meet all
internal and public examination requirements.
• To be able to make lesson plans.
• To be able to use technology to teach, develop lesson plans and communicate.
• To fully participate in the school’s existing programmes and to be an innovative member of this
essential part of Vidhya Vishwalaya CBSE School’s curriculum.
• Participate in the carrying out of substitution work.
• Teach extra classes to support each student as is deemed necessary.
• To attend all subject-specific and general training programs organised by the school as part of
the Continuous Professional Development initiatives
• Perform examination duties and contribute to the setting of examination papers as required,
both internally and externally.
• Adhere to the school’s marking and reporting assessment scheme and to attend all PTMs
(Parent-Teacher Meetings).
• Carry out all teaching and other aspects of life as a professional teacher at Vidhya Vishwalaya
CBSE School with honesty and integrity.
• To undertake duties and responsibilities requested by the Principal from time to time.
• To be able to escort students on various educational trips.

In addition to the teaching responsibility, a teacher at Vidhya Vishwalaya CBSE School is
expected to get whole heartedly involved in the Extracurricular activities offered at the school.
All Members of teaching staff are also expected to get involved in various sports available to
students at the School.
As the school has always believed in a holistic education for each student, the teachers are also
expected to take the opportunity to get involved in their area of interests or expertise. A teacher
at Vidhya Vishwalaya is further expected to do the following:

Extracurricular and Discipline:

• Plan and manage the activities of the house/club to which she/he is attached, during the
academic year.
• Plan and manage events as assigned by the event coordinator and/or the Principal.
• To inculcate good habits and discipline to students in all their conduct.
• To dine snacks and lunch in the Cafeteria with students and to inculcate manners and proper
decorum at meals.
• Inculcate good reading habits.
• Prepare/assist to prepare weekly performance reports for all students.

If competent enough, a new teacher could be given a sport to run at the junior level to begin with. Those who are in charge of a sport will have to be present on all evenings during the academic year or on fixed days as decided by the Principal.

Other duties

Teachers are also expected to do:

• The required number of invigilation duties during Vidhya Vishwalaya CBSE School Admission
Examinations.
• Attend school functions, maintain school discipline and be proactive in and outside the
classroom.
• To attend all staff meetings.
• Handle school resources, including digital, online and electronic ones, supplied to her/him with
utmost care and regard.
• To always uphold the values and traditions of the school and to be an example to the students.

General Administrative Officer

A successful candidate occupying the position of the General Administrative Officer is required to:

● Manage the front desk.
● Establish and maintain a cordial and effective line of communication with parents of all
students of the school.
● Be the point of contact for all operations related matters, primary and secondary.
● Receive and manage queries and complaints from parents and ensure their resolution by
coordinating with the concerned staff and the management.
● Ensure the clean, hygienic and functional upkeep of the campus premises, buildings and
grounds, by coordinating with the concerned staff.
● Manage purchases, replacements and repairs of educational and non-educational material
required by the school.
● Maintain smooth communication with all members of the office staff to ensure professional
courtesy as well as effectiveness in completion of tasks.
● Plan, Develop, Review and Communicate creative and efficient workflows for and with all
members of the office staff, and where necessary, the teaching staff.
● Ensure the smooth operation of the campus kitchen & dining facilities.
● Leverage technology to its full potential to
● Maintain the integrity of the school, its students, staff and management at all times.
● Represent the interests of the school at every turn.

    Kindergarten Facilitator

    Sciences

    Candidates are expected to have a minimum of a Graduate degree in any of the sciences or in any of the disciplines of Early Childhood Education. B.Ed. and/or any specialised training in the various disciplines of Early Childhood Education is appreciated.

    Languages

    Candidates are expected to have a minimum of a Graduate degree in English/Tamil/Hindi. B.Ed. and/or any specialised training in the various disciplines of Early Childhood Education is appreciated.

    English

    Primary level

    Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Graduate degree in English and a B.Ed. with any specialisation. Work experience is optional.

    Middle level

    Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Postgraduate degree in English. B.Ed. with any specialisation is not mandatory but preferred. Work experience is not mandatory but preferred.

    Secondary level

    Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Postgraduate degree in English with a B.Ed.

    in any specialisation. A minimum of 3 years work experience is expected. Work experience handling CBSE board curriculum at the secondary level is appreciated.

    Arts

    Fine Arts

    Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Graduate degree in the chosen Art or any equivalent certification in the same. Work experience is optional. Only considering full-time staff.

    Performing Arts & Other Arts

    Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Graduate degree in the chosen Art or any equivalent certification in the same. Work experience is optional. Both full-time and part-time staff are considered.

    Mathematics

    Primary level

    Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Graduate degree in Mathematics and a B.Ed. with any specialisation. Work experience is optional.

    Middle level

    Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Postgraduate degree in Mathematics. B.Ed. with any specialisation is not mandatory but preferred. Work experience is not mandatory but preferred.

    Secondary level

    Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Postgraduate degree in Mathematics with a
    B.Ed. in any specialisation. A minimum of 3 years work experience is expected. Work experience handling CBSE board curriculum at the secondary level is appreciated.

    Physics

    Primary level

    Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Graduate degree in Physics and a B.Ed. with any specialisation. Work experience is optional.

    Middle level
